Ben Shelton may be the second-ranked American tennis player on the men’s side, but he’s the No. 1 supportive brother.
After a quick and efficient third-round victory for Shelton, 22, at Wimbledon on July 5, he took the mic for a post game interview — and to advocate for some extra vacation days for his sister, Emma.
In the interview, after discussing the match itself, Shelton says, “My sister's here. She's been here for every match I've played. She's been the lucky charm. But she has work back in the U.S. starting Monday. She works for Morgan Stanley."
The crowd replied with shouts and boos as Emma, 24, put her head in her hands while laughing.

“If any of you all have some [connections] and can get her a couple extra days off so she can [stay and] we can keep this rolling, that’d be great,” he said, with a grin.

Evidently, Ben was persuasive.
A few hours later, Emma, who played tennis for the Florida Gators in college like her younger brother, confirmed on Instagram Stories that she had, indeed, been granted time off. In a short video, she added the caption “return flight: cancelled.”
Ben also posted a video of the moment on his Stories, showing Emma laughing as he said, "Yeah, you got the week off or what?" She then jumps up and down in celebration, as Ben says, "Shout out Morgan Stanley."
Along with Emma, their parents Bryan — who coaches Ben — and Lisa have been in London to support their son, plus Ben's girlfriend, soccer star Trinity Rodman.
Rodman, 23, is a forward for the Washington Spirit and daughter of Hall of Fame basketball legend, Dennis Rodman.
The pair confirmed their relationship in March of 2025 when Ben posted a sweet photo with Rodman.

Rodman’s first appearance in the player’s box was on April 19, 2025, to cheer on Ben in his semi-final win of the BMW Open, where he ultimately lost in the final.
Besides the sweet family moments from the Sheltons and Rodman this Wimbledon, the on court action of the American is making history. Ben is the youngest American to reach three major fourth-round appearances in one year since Andy Roddick in 2004.
And with his win against Lorenzo Sonego on Monday, July 7, Ben is now on to the quarterfinals.
