Barcelona midfielder devastated after injury blow; dressing room also affected

On Tuesday, FC Barcelona announced that key midfielder Gavi had undergone arthroscopic surgery to address his knee problem that had sidelined him since late August.
The Blaugrana also confirmed that the 21-year-old La Masia graduate will be out for a period of four to five months due to surgery, in a bitter blow.

Now, according to journalist Adria Albets on Carrusel, Gavi is emotionally devastated after the latest developments with his injury.
The initial prognosis suggested that the Spaniard would be out only for a period of five weeks or so, considering that it was a minimally invasive procedure.

However, it turned out that the issue was more concerning than believed, meaning the player now faces more time on the sidelines.
It has come as a bitter pill to swallow for Gavi, especially with this being a World Cup season.
The report highlights that the midfielder’s long-term injury absence came as a bitter blow to the Barcelona dressing room as well, considering that he is a beloved member of the team.
As reported earlier today, manager Hansi Flick is one of the most affected by Gavi’s injury setback and extended absence.
For now, the aim will be to ensure that there are no lapses or setbacks on the Spanish international’s road to recovery, so that he can return at the earliest possible.
