Ballon d’Or 2025: Ceremony date, time, and nominees

The 2025 Ballon d’Or will be announced on Monday with football’s greatest individual honour to be awarded.

It’s the 69th edition of the annual award, handed to the footballer recognised as the world’s best the previous season.

Ahead of the 2025 unveiling, we’ve got all the details on this year’s Ballon d’Or.

When is the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony?

The presentation of the Ballon d’Or will take place on Monday, September 22nd, 2025, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France. The awards will begin at 8pm BST.

Who is the favourite for the 2025 Ballon d’Or?

Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele is the frontrunner to take the prize, following his role in the club’s treble success last season. Dembele scored 35 goals in 53 games last season, in a campaign that culminated in the club’s maiden Champions League triumph. Incredibly, the Frenchman has never previously been nominated but is now the favourite to win the illustrious award.

Barcelona duo Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are also understood to be in contention, alongside Dembele’s PSG teammate Vitinha, who also lifted the Nations League with Portugal in the summer. Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is expected to be the highest-ranked Premier League player.
