Ballon d'Or 2025 results: PSG's Ousmane Dembélé, Barcelona's Aitana Bonamtí earn prestigious award

The two best players in the world have been crowned, as French forward Ousman Dembélé and Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmatí are awarded the Ballon d'Or. The two were honored in a ceremony in Paris on Monday, defeating a talented field to take home the prestigious award.

Dembélé takes home the men's award after an incredible year with both the French national team and Paris Saint-Germain. The forward anchored a renewed PSG team that played with a nearly unstoppable solidarity, helping lead the team to a dominant UEFA Champions League title and a runner-up spot at the expanded FIFA Club World Cup.

The award marks Dembélé's first major individual honor in several years, with the 28-year-old forward beating out players like teenage Barcelona phenom Lamine Yamal, PSG teammate Vitinha and Liverpool stalwart Mo Salah.

For the women's side, Bonmatí is in a familiar spot, earning the Ballon d'Or Féminin for the third straight year. She becomes the only player to win the honor three times.

Bonmatí beat out Spain teammate and Arsenal midfielder Mariona Caldentey, Arsenal forward Alessia Russo and Barcelona captain (and two-time Ballon d'Or recipient) Alexia Putellas for the award.
