Anthony Martial Begins New Chapter in Mexico After AEK Athens Exit

Mexican giants Monterrey have confirmed the signing of French forward Anthony Martial making him the first Frenchman ever to represent the club.

The 29 year old arrives on permanent deal from AEK Athens and has signed contract running until 2027 with option for additional year.

From Lyon to Monterrey

Martial began his professional career at Lyon in 2013 before moving to Monaco where his pace & technique marked him out as 1 of Europe’s brightest young talents.

His breakthrough earned him blockbuster transfer to Man United in 2015 where he played 317 matche, scored 90 goal and won several trophies including the Europa league, FA cup & League cup.

The French striker also won the prestigious Golden Boy award in 2015 joining list that includes Messi, Rooney, Pogba, Mbappe and Haaland.

Martial later had short loan at Sevilla in 2022 before impressing at AEK Athens with 9 goal & 2 assist in 24 appearances last season.
