Anthony Edwards Says His Teammates Deserve More Credit

The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the best teams in the NBA. However, they get talked as if Anthony Edwards is the entire team. That is not what the Timberwolves are because they have one of the deepest teams in the league.

Edwards will be the first to talk about his teammates because he knows it's not a one-man show. He might be the team's superstar, but the team is filled with fantastic players who deserve credit.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (5) jogs towards the team bench after a timeout was called against the Golden State Warriors in the third quarter during game four of the second round for the 2025 NBA Playoffs at Chase Center.

The Timberwolves' president of basketball operations, Tim Connelly, did a stellar job at building this team. He already had a superstar in Edwards, so he needed to get the right pieces around him.

That has worked out well for the current Timberwolves team because they are always a deep squad. They are hard to beat because they have the depth to compete with any team in the league, especially in the postseason.

Edwards' Full Belief In His Teammates

Most people will point out that the Timberwolves go as far as Edwards will take them. That is true for any other team that has a superstar. Despite his status, he still needs teammates who will do their best to support him in the game.

Basketball is a team sport, so everyone will do their best to contribute. Edwards is doing his job as the team's star player, while the others are doing well by helping him lead the team to victory.

Edwards does not take his teammates for granted because he knows he won't make it far without an awesome group alongside him.

"That's what it's about, man. Wanting to see your teammates succeed, want your teammates shine. Not even my teammates, my brothers," Edwards said after Game 4. "We're going to battle every night. We play 82 games, we're with each other 8-9 months out of the year. Those guys are like my brothers, and it's nothing like seeing them compete and produce at a high level. That makes everybody happy."

The Timberwolves Have Unlocked Their Full Potential

With a focus on depth and team cohesion, the Timberwolves have been among the most impressive teams in the 2025 NBA Playoffs. They are not only led by Anthony Edwards as they have a strong group of players from the starting lineup to the bench.

Julius Randle has become a postseason star for the Timberwolves this season, arguably becoming more consistent than Edwards.

The Timberwolves have succeeded in this postseason, beating the Los Angeles Lakers in five games, and are on the brink of doing it against the Golden State Warriors.

Expectations were low for them in this postseason, but with sheer depth and chemistry, the Timberwolves are among the best teams.
