Angel Reese will be looking to keep her hot streak going on Monday when the Chicago Sky host the league-best Minnesota Lynx at Wintrust Arena. The Sky pulled off an upset win against Napheesa Collier and Co. on Saturday, 87-81, and will be hoping to do it all over again in Monday’s rematch.
Reese has been on a tear for the Sky of late, logging eight straight double-doubles. During that stretch, the 23-year-old has averaged 17.6 points on 48.6% from the field, 15.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals in 34.4 minutes of action. There have been no signs of Reese slowing down, too, and she will want to keep her foot on the gas against the best team in the WNBA on Monday.
Before the game, Reese was caught on video having an exchange with Minnesota star Courtney Williams, who was recently named an All-Star for the second time in her career.
Williams had some words for Reese and a few of her Sky teammates as Minnesota warmed up for the contest. The camera was unable to capture what was said between the players, but it appears that it was nothing more than friendly banter between them.
It is worth noting that Reese and Williams will get the chance to be teammates in the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis on July 19. Team captain Collier selected both stars to be on her squad as they look to take down Caitlin Clark and her side in the big spectacle.
For now, though, both players will be focused on doing what they can to help their respective teams come out with a win in Monday’s showdown at Wintrust Arena.
