AEW & ROH champions are coming to CMLL for big matches

Forbidden Door season is over, but that hasn’t closed the exchange for AEW talent coming to CMLL. The lucha libre promotion is wide open for stars wrestling in Arena Mexico. CMLL announced a handful of bouts with champions from AEW and ROH.

Bandido and Brody King will be in the house to defend the AEW World Tag team Championship in Arena Mexico on Friday, September 12. Brodido face off against Zandokan Jr. & Difunto in the main event.

Bandido visited last week for tag team action with Mistico versus Hechicero and Angel de Oro. Bandido bested Hechicero again to pin his rival on the 21 Plex, while Mistico trapped Angel in La Mistica armbar for the double win. Enjoy the highlight package with Hechicero throwing KeMonito at Mistico.

Mistico is fresh off winning the Men’s International Grand Prix, and MJF is coming from his wedding. The enemies are set to collide in mask versus title for the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship at the 92nd Anniversary event on September 19.

CMLL announced the first team member for the world in the Women’s International Grand Prix. ROH interim TV champ Mina Shirakawa will represent Japan in the fight against Mexico on October 24. The rest of the team will be revealed at a later date.

Zeuxis is the first luchadora announced for the Mexican squad. Zeuxis returned from injury after losing the CMLL Women’s World Championship to Mercedes Moné.
