AA Lakers topple Dudes National at Palouse tourney

PULLMAN, Wash. — Leading 4-2 in the fifth inning, the Kalispell AA Lakers plated six runs to cruise to a 10-2 win over Dudes National in Legion baseball Saturday.

The Lakers (22-10) rode a strong performance from Kyler Croft who pitched 4 1-3 innings, three hits and two earned runs to pick up the win. Carter Schlegel came in relief and retired the final two batters in order.  

Hitters 7-8-9 stepped up big for the Lakers, combining for four hits, four runs, with each player recording two RBIs, led by Teagan Dixon who went 2-for-2. Brady Buckmaster reached base three times, recording two hits, a run scored and a walk. 

Oscar Kallis walked twice, recording an RBI with two runs scored. Kaeden Kahler scored two runs as the Lakers outhit the Dudes 7-2, walking six times. Ostyn Brennan singled home a run in the fifth inning. 

The game ended under the Palouse Summer Series run rule. 

Dudes National got on the board in the top of the second inning when Caden Ho singled home a run and Caleb Chin recorded an RBI groundout. Their next hit came in the top of the fifth inning on Grayson Clement’s single before the next hitter grounded into a double play to end the inning. 

The Lakers had a 10 p.m. start with Baden Premier.
