2027 pass rusher Robert Taylor excited about West Virginia offer

Birmingham (Ala.) Parker 2027 edge rusher Robert Taylor was excited to add West Virginia to his early list of scholarship offers.

Taylor, 6-foot-2, 225-pounds, added the scholarship offer from the Mountaineers after defensive line coach William Green stopped by his school during the evaluation period.

Taylor found out the news after speaking with his head coach and while he kept his cool in the moment, it was admittedly a big development for him.

“I was very happy inside,” he said.

Green has told Taylor that he is impressed with his overall athleticism as well as how he bends at the position and how fast he is off the ball.

The Mountaineers are targeting Taylor as an outside linebacker along with the other schools involved, such as Washington, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Georgia Tech and a number of others. And he believes his best football is certainly ahead of him.

“All off-season I’ve been working on my craft,” he said.

The plan is to visit Morgantown at some point in the future and also wants to try to visit Ohio State this summer, which would put him in the area.

Taylor is looking for a school where he can succeed both on and off the field.
